At this year’s Annual General Meeting – held on the 24th of October in our beautiful Gilroy Hall, it was announced that Jeremiah Emmanuel, the founder of One Big Community has been appointed as a patron of Cambridge House.
“As a 14 year old boy, Jeremiah is an inspiration to us all. His passion and dedication to tackling youth violence, one of the gravest issues facing society today, is truly remarkable. He had the vision and drive to found One Big Community and I’m sure he’ll be at the forefront of many other social action projects in the years to come. Joining His Royal Highness, the Duke of Gloucester as a fellow patron is nothing more than he deserves. We’re very happy to have him on board.” Karin Woodley, CEO of Cambridge House.
In addition to founding One Big Community, Jeremiah Emmanuel is also the Deputy Youth Mayor for Lambeth. He has been campaigning for over 10 years, fighting to give the people of his community a better standard of living, safety and opportunity, and recently – just 2 days ago! – won BBC Radio 1’s Teen Hero Award.
He has visited many schools, inspiring young people to chase their dreams, stand up for themselves and become leaders. When he isn’t leading One Big Community, Jeremiah is a 14 year old boy going to school like every other 14 year old boy.
