We are proud to announce that our Chief Executive, Karin Woodley, has been shortlisted for a Lifetime Achiever Award at this year’s National Excellence in Diversity Awards. She stood out against thousands of over nominees due to her extraordinary contribution to the diversity and equality movement, with a career of third sector leadership spanning 25 years.

She has bought her passion, experience, and innovative energy to range of organisations to broaden and diversity and increase equality. She is, perhaps, unique in the breadth of organisations that have benefitted from her leadership, expertise, and dedication to social justice.

Karin WoodleyKarin’s inspirational and creative leadership, humour and care for others combined with strong political acumen, a dedication to human rights and energetic persistence, have enabled her to drive a number of significant changes at a community and statutory level in the arts, education, community empowerment, social action, and criminal justice sectors

As a British Caribbean woman and single parent she has personally overcome significant barriers to inclusion and recognition, going beyond the call of duty in a number of senior management roles in public-facing charities as well as a variety number of voluntary and non-executive directorships.

Excellence in Diversity Awards 2016

The Excellence in Diverisity Awards are for people who inspire other individuals through their work, through their commitment to helping others, through their infectious personalities and through adversity.

The UK has taken such an event to their hearts, with thousands of nominations being received each year, all of which focus on the unsung diversity heroes of our nation.

The National Diversity Awards is a significant occasion; it has opened up opportunities and gave people a platform to spread a positive message. This year’s awards will continue to recognise those from deprived areas and promote the phenomenal work that they do during 2016.

The awards ceremony will take place in Liverpool on September 16th 2016.
